Nendo: Transparent Table

I'm usually a believer in truth to materials but Nendo's Transparent Table series caught my eye. Casted acrylic to look like wood is far from honest, but the play in the idea is wonderful.




this black table is suppose to look like wood from far away but when you get closer, only then can you see the transparency and that it is actually made from acrylic




However, the clear-top table is suppose to look like acrylic or glass from far away but when you get closer you can see all the wood details, with even an end grain!
