Afteroom: Chair No.1

Afteroom is a Stockholm based studio made of two designers that I believe originated in Taiwan. When I first saw their Chair No. 1, I was certain it was a midcentury design but surprised to find that it is actually contemporary. The reason I may have gotten confused is from it's simplicity, something which Afteroom fully intended to do. They say that the chair is "deconstructed to take away any unnecessary structure, reduce the amount of material to the minimum and the aesthetic appearance to the maximum."
