Using a part lead ceramic (same in what we use in pencil leads today), Fumiaki baked the material in a method that is used for traditional ceramics. I'm not sure how he locally focused the heat to the 'tip' part. Either way, these are beautiful!

Fumiaki Goto: Drawing Vessels
Recently I have been making my own charcoal from twigs I found at the local park, and as coincidence has it this past week I saw the work Drawing Vessels by the poetic Fumiaki Goto.
Using a part lead ceramic (same in what we use in pencil leads today), Fumiaki baked the material in a method that is used for traditional ceramics. I'm not sure how he locally focused the heat to the 'tip' part. Either way, these are beautiful!
